How am I using the lessons learned from traveling the road and staying in the homes of so many? I am sharing the voices of many by joining the leadership committee for Beyond Type 1.

You may not remember the days before the type 1 diabetes community was so active online. Before social media advocacy, I felt isolated and alone with this invisible disease. Information was not easily available for topics like going off to college, traveling internationally, or even planning a small weekend hike.

Organizations like Beyond Type 1 have brought us together. I want to pledge myself to make sure every person who lives with this disease knows they are not alone.
