BRINGING TOGETHER 100 OF OUR BEST CREATIVE MINDS IN THE DIABETES COMMUNITY

Dear IBD MEDICAL

The family photo above is over 80 years of diabetes advocacy.

My grandfather, Chuck Douds, fought to have an insulin to keep him alive. Every decade of his life he defied the misplaced stereotype that his life would be cut short.

Having the optimism of my grandfather’s long life showed me a path to find the silver lining to prove that we can go anywhere and do anything.

Traveling over 10,000+ miles by bicycle (yes…the one with pedals) with teammate Annalisa van den Bergh (also T1D), staying in the homes of 60+ families impacted by Type 1, and speaking at champions dinners with ADA or filming galas at JDRF has left me with one lesson…

There is no rule book for this disease.

Once again…there are no step-by-step directions for managing diabetes on the border of South Sudan and Ethiopia. What lessons were learned over 3 months in one of the most regions in the world? How can we inspire the next diabadass adventurer?

Diabadass is a storytelling platform and production company.

We have hosted two of the creator’s retreats under the roof of Peter Friedfeld (T1D) out in East Hampton, New York.

Your team will be inspired by a few stories that we have included below featuring Diabadass Creators+.

Below is a brief example of my filmmaking work from 20s and Change: San Francisco produced by Matt Scott; Miles of Portraits: Alaska sponsored by PEARL iZUMi (major bike brand); and highlights from my diabetes advocacy and sustainability management background.

Pre-production and post-production for ten YouTube films: $7,680
On-ground production to film and capture stories in Pittsburgh: $5,760

Total cost: $13,440

With experience making Youtube series, our team will be on the ground to film, assist, record, and back up the stories of ten individuals implementing climate solutions. We will work in close coordination with your team to deliver a first draft of the series 30 days from filming, with final deliverables ready for publishing in October.
